How to get out of the ‘I can’t afford this’ syndrome
When it comes to making a decision to join an online business or start your own home based business, have you ever thought, “That’s too expensive, I can’t afford that.” or “I don’t have the money to spare to join this opportunity, even though I need this to get ahead.”?
You are not the first, and you are not alone at wondering ‘what if it will work for me’ and ‘could I really do this?’…
Well, no…
You are not the first…
and you are not the only one…
I used to think this every time I heard
about another opportunity that came along
and I would procrastinate long enough
for the idea to disappear in my mind
and the problems of life would
take over again…
I was complaining about this one day
to a friend of mine and he said, “Listen…
You have got to look at this, not from a
defeatist attitude, but from a
‘how can I make this happen’ attitude…
Too many people are defeated in their mind
by their thoughts, before they even have
a chance to see if it will work or not…
Then he showed my some numbers.
Do you remember those napkin presentations??
I had not seen one of those since I joined a
business opportunity 30 years ago…
and that one didn’t go any where neither…
And that voice in my head was telling me,
“See… I told you it wouldn’t work…”.
There i was, defeated even before I began…
But I digress…
Back to the numbers…
He first showed me my cost,
or my monthly investment…
(and you have to look at this as
an investment, or you will be defeated
before you start)…
Then he asked my a question, “How many
people will it take, if you receive
a monthly commission from signing them up,
to cover your monthly investment?”…
I looked at that and I said “Two”…
Then he looked my straight in the eye and said,
then why were you thinking about
how to get 100 people in your down line??
I said to him, I wasn’t thinking that…
And then I heard something that changed my
thinking and my attitude forever…
He said, “That was what your body language
was telling my you were thinking…”.
“So now how many people are you looking for
in your business?”?
I said “one hundred”… then I laughed…
Because I had finally GOT IT…
It was the fear of not having enough people
to make it work that blew it all
out of proportion…
Two people to cover your cost…
and your system, program, company costs, whatever
you are investing…
Is Free… after two people you have no cost…
It is FREE…
I had finally heard it… 2 people for my
new business and after that it is all
gravy…
No more thinking “I Can’t Afford This”…
Do the math…
Your business may need more people if
you have an autoship program or commissions that
pays less…
Or you may earn one thousand dollars per
sign up and then one deposit into your
bank account will cover all your costs and
put you into profit right off the back…
